Peninsula Farm Excursion

What a fabulous day we had at Peninsula Farm.

The children had a tour of the house, looked at artifacts, tried their hand at sewing, played old fashioned games, and sketched a coat of arms for the Farm. I’m sure they will have more stories to share with you at home.

Here are some photos from our experience today.

Year 3 Penance Retreat with Sister Catherine

The children started their Retreat day on Friday with a game to get to know each other better; find out interesting things about someone else.  They then had a meditative prayer.

They listened to Scripture stories and saw them dramatised by Sister Catherine with the help of others.  The Gospel stories included  The Prodigal Son, The Good Samaritan and Zacchaeus.  They then collaborated to draw a scene from the Gospel story and then begin their rehearsal to perform in front of each other their play.

The children visited the Chapel to learn about Mary and Penance.  The Sacrament of Penance and the Rite of Reconciliation were explained.  The children role played how to go to confession.

Later in the day they discussed choices – good and unhappy choices.

The day ended with reflection and prayer.

Below is a mosaic of their day.

Harmony Day in Year 3

A HUGE thank you to all the parents who contributed a delicious dish to our shared morning tea for Harmony Day. The children had a lovely morning tea, discussing their family heritage and the food they brought along.

We wrote Harmony Day themed acrostic poems, and designed and wrote Harmony Day postcards. Keep an eye out in the Year 3 corridor and on our windows for these thoughtful pieces of work!
