The last part of Term Four in Drama has been action packed for everyone. The Pre Primary children participated in several whole class improvisations as well as creating scenes in small groups. The Year Ones and Twos continued preparations for and then performed in their Junior Music & Drama End of Year Concert.
The Pre Primary children worked in small groups creating short scenes, with teacher direction, which some then performed for the class. In addition, during a short whole class improvisation, they pretended they were American Indians doing various jobs in their village. Another improvisation saw the PP children pretending to be Caterpillars emerging from their cocoons. They explored the garden looking for food and encountered a spider, before finally transforming into butterflies.
YEAR ONE & YEAR TWO
The Year One and Two children continued to refine their individual plays for the End of Year Music & Drama Concert. Then on Thursday evening the 10th November, the audience were enchanted when the Year One children performed “The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe” & the Year Two children presented “Cinderella”. Well done children, what a fantastic effort! In the weeks after the show, the children watched videos of their performance and made guided evaluations of their participation in the rehearsals and performance. They also worked in small groups creating, rehearsing and then performing a short scene for the rest of the class. A fun and relaxing way to end off drama for the year.
