PRE-PRIMARY                                                                                                                                                During the term the Pre-Primary children have been enjoying being involved in various creative movement activities and role-playing different characters. They have continued acting out characters and ideas from several books and have also participated in several whole class structured improvisations where they were puppies and then farm workers. In the photos below, the children can be seen; pretending to have eaten too much during a role-play activity; Acting Out a book called “Scaly-tailed Possum and Echidna” and remembering correct posture during a speech segment of the lesson.

YEAR ONE                                                                                                                                      The Year One children have been developing their team working and performance skills, as well as practising body and space awareness skills. They have started learning parts of the musical play they will be performing towards the end of the year. After a reading of the play, the children expressed their interest in playing individual characters. Here the children can be seen; learning a choral verse section of the play, with actions; and portraying rodents during a role-play activity.

YEAR TWO

The Year Two children have also been developing their team working and performance skills. In addition, the children have been working on their characterization skills as well as learning about plot structure and development. They also expressed their interest in playing individual characters for the end of year musical play. The children can be seen here; reciting a poem about a dog and portraying a pirate in a role-play activity.
